We picked up about a half inch of snow last night. I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River and St. Germain trails. St. Germain groomed last night and their trails were smooth. It’s been a while since the Sayner and Eagle River trails I rode have been groomed. They ranged from smooth to bumpy. Overall I’m giving the trails I rode a fair/good rating. Some are holding up fine and are good to very good. There are fair areas and then some bad spots that are lean on snow with some bare ground. Expect some icy trails – especially some corners so be careful. There are snirty areas so expect to see some brown trails.

Plowed road trails are the areas that are fair to bad. The warm temps and sun are hitting these hard. Most are showing at least some bare pavement while others are mostly bare.

It’s getting late in the season. While there is still some good riding, getting to those areas is getting more difficult. You will have to ride some bad to get to the good and each warm day means more bad and less good. With today suppose to be in the 40s and forecasts calling for continued warm temps, it looks like our sleds might be parked for the season.

No pictures today since the new snow will make things look better than they are and wasn’t enough to change conditions. Look at yesterday’s report for pictures that will be more accurate.
