For over 40 years, the Best family has been operating Idle Hours Resort. It has been the choice for friends and family to gather and enjoy the beautiful Northwoods of Northern Wisconsin. Every season brings a different experience of fun, recreation and relaxation. From waterskiing, fishing, swimming, boating and snowmobiling, to craft fairs, nature walks, shopping and dining, there is something for everyone in St. Germain and at Idle Hours Resort.
We are located in northern Wisconsin between Eagle River and Minocqua. Our 11 cabins are nestled under towering pine trees along the lakefront. The resort grounds encompass 15 acres of wooded land with 500′ of north shore lake frontage on Little St. Germain Lake.

Time can seem to stand still when the early-morning mist hangs over the lake and your boat glides across tranquil waters. Make no mistake, it’s a different world in St. Germain. And with thousands of acres of lakes surrounded by the vast Northwoods, there’s plenty of room for everyone. We’ve got trails galore for hiking and biking, and of course we’re well known as a preferred destination for snowmobiling. It’s an outdoorsman’s paradise here, and you can count on St. Germain to make it memorable—each and every time you visit.

This is the BEST resort you will find anywhere with wonderful owners. They bend over backwards to keep you happy, except catch fish for you. Great fishing in Little St Germain.
