Answers to common questions
We’ve compiled a list of answers to common questions.
- How do I figure out how much a cabin will cost?
First, determine the dates you want to come and which cabin you would like. Next, find the season on the rate page that your dates come under. Then look under the cabin you want and the length of stay to find out the rate. Don’t forget to add extra person charges if applicable. Finally, add sales and room tax, which total 10%, to your bill.
- Do you allow pets at the resort?
NO. Pets are NOT allowed at the resort – either in the cabins or on resort grounds. If you have guests visiting you while at the resort be sure they are aware of our no pet policy.
- What time do I have to leave by?
Check-out time is 9 AM. You are expected to be out of your cabin and off premise by the check-out time. A late check-out is subject to an additional charge.
- What time can I arrive at the resort?
Check-in time is 3pm. Early check-in is subject to an additional charge.
- How do I make a reservation?
Call us at 715/542-3765 or click on the book a cabin link found on all pages of our website to make a reservation request. If the cabin you want is open for the dates you request, we’ll reserve it for you pending receipt of your deposit.
- How much of a deposit do I need?
A deposit equal to half of the base rate is required to hold a reservation. Base rate is the rate before adding extra persons or taxes.
- When is the deposit due?
Your deposit is due within one week of making a reservation.
- What happens to my deposit if I cancel my reservation?
That depends on if we are able to fill the vacancy created by the cancellation. Please see our cancellation policy.

While on winter rates, our snow policy goes into effect if there isn’t enough enough snow to ride. Under the snow policy there is a cancellation fee of $25. After deducting the cancellation fee from you deposit, the remaining balance becomes a snow credit. A snow credit can be used at any time of the year and is good for two years at Idle Hours Resort.
- When is the snow policy in effect?
The snow policy is in effect if the snowmobile trails are closed or the clubs are not grooming due to a lack of snow. The snow policy will not go into effect until 72 hours before your scheduled arrival. If you cancel before that our regular cancellation policy applies.
