There’s some good news. We received 6 inches of snow the past couple days (5 Monday night and 1 last night). I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River and Sayner trails. St. Germain groomed their trails I rode. The Eagle River and Sayner ones I rode hadn’t been groomed. The groomed trails were smooth. The ungroomed ones ranged from smooth to having some bumps. Trails had a soft feel on top with a solid feel underneath from the ice base. Where trails kept the base during the warm up, trails are fair to very good. Where trails melted to bare ground during the warm up are bad to fair. Carbides were scraping in areas. Be very careful in corners as some are all ice. I have sharp carbides and still pushed. This snow did help (it was light and fluffy) but we could definitely use some more.

Plowed road trails are a mixed bag. Where the ice base didn’t melt they are fine. Where they melted to bare pavement, carbides will scrape.

Note: In some pics, trails will look whiter than they are due to the fresh snow.
