I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River, Arbor Vitae, Lake Tomahawk and Sayner and trails. The St. Germain, Arbor Vitae and Eagle River trails I rode had been groomed. They were mostly smooth but some areas still have some bumps because the groomers weren’t able to completely flatten them out. One Sayner trail I rode hadn’t been groomed but it was smooth. Avoid trail Sayner trail 9 south of intersection 204 as it hasn’t been groomed in at least 3 days and it’s mostly all moguls. Lake Tomahawk hadn’t groomed the trails I rode but they were still overall smooth. With the cold temps (-7) trails were packed in solid like roads. Most of the trails I rode were really nice overall. Saw some corners that are getting pushed out making them icy and/or thin on snow on the insides. My carbides did scrape on some. There are areas of snirt showing up making the trail brownish but still plenty of trails that are mostly white.

Plowed road trails remain in poor to fair condition. A lot of them are showing areas of bare pavement (from small patches to big spots). The ones I rode had an ice base with some bare spots and very little to no loose snow on them. Carbides are scraping on them.

I’m going with an overall good rating on the trails. There are lots of good to very good areas. My advice is to ride now if you can. Some warm weather is predicted this weekend…
