I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain and Lake Tomahawk trails. St. Germain didn’t groom and their trails were beat up and bumpy. The Lake Tomahawk trails I rode had been groomed and were smooth. It’s a mixed bag out there. I found some trails that were white, smooth and made me want to ride all day. Then there were trails that were brown, thin on snow and icy which made me want to park the sled. Of course there was a lot of in between where straight-a-ways were good but corners were icy and/or thin on snow. It also made a big difference where I rode – main corridor and town trails are beat up and fair at best. Get out away from towns and off the main routes and there’s some really nice trails.

Plowed road trails suck. Carbides scrape constantly on them.

We really could use some snow. 4-6 inches of heavy wet snow would be wonderful…
