I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Sayner, Eagle River, Sugar Camp and Lake Tomahawk trails. The Sayner and the Lake Tomahawk trails I rode had been groomed. The St. Germain, Eagle River and Sugar Camp trails I rode hadn’t been groomed. Groomed trails were smooth and most corners had snow on them but still had thin areas. The ungroomed trails ranged from pretty smooth to getting bumpy and more corners were pushed out and icy. While there are still some beautiful trails out there, most are showing wear. Even some freshly groomed trails had some areas with bumps the groomers are having a tough time knocking out. More trails are looking brownish from snirt but still some that are mostly white. My carbides were scraping more often – mainly on the insides of some corners. More corners are getting pushed out making them icy and/or thin on snow. It’s hard to give an overall rating to the trails as they vary from poor/fair up to excellent. Most will be in the fair/good range.

Plowed road trails suck. Carbides scrape constantly on them.

We really could use some snow to help build up the base and give the groomers more to work with.

Note: In the pics, some trails will look whiter than they are due to the dusting of snow we got.
