We picked up another 1.5 inches of snow yesterday/ last night. I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain and Eagle River trails. All the trails I rode had been groomed. They were smooth overall but soft with the mild temps and the fresh snow. Most of what I rode was very good with some fair areas. Did see some snirt in areas making the trail brownish but still plenty that are white with good snow cover. There are some corners getting pushed out making them icy and/or thin on snow on the insides, but majority are still in good shape. My carbides scraped a few times on corners but not too much. With warm temps here it’s not allowing the trails to set up after getting groomed. Because of this, it won’t take many sleds to start getting bumps and pushing out corners.

Even though warm temps are predicted, most trails should be fine. However, plowed road trails are the biggest concern. A lot of them are getting plowed down to almost nothing. There are still some with a decent base but others are getting thin. Carbides are scraping in areas and with warm temps predicted, there will be some melting.

Most lakes in the area marked. If a lake is not marked or you’re not sure about the ice, consider it unsafe. Please stay off the lakes until they are safe.
