It started freezing rain yesterday afternoon, then had some sleet and snow. This morning it was a mix again of sleet and snow and we picked up about 1-2 inches. I headed out for a ride hitting Sayner, Eagle River and St. Germain trails. Sayner and Eagle River groomed, St. Germain groomed the night before. Trails were much better than I expected after the busy holiday weekend. They were softer with the warmer temps. Didn’t scrape carbides much except in some corners. The more open trails were good and the tight, twisty trails were browner and had more wear. Most plowed road trails have a decent ice base so didn’t scrape a lot on them. I’d rate the trails I rode today as good with some fair areas.

Lakes are still pretty nasty with slush coming up and not much snow on them. Watch out for the frozen ruts where sleds broke through the slushy areas.

Note: Pictures will appear whiter than they are with the new snow.
