I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River, Lake Tomahawk and St. Germain trails. The St. Germain trails I rode had been groomed. Sayner and Lake Tomahawk had groomed some of their trails but not others. The Eagle River trails I rode hadn’t been groomed. The groomed ones were smooth overall but still had some bumps the groomer didn’t flatten out completely. With cold temps, they were packed in tight and fun to ride. The Eagle River and Lake Tomahawk ungroomed ones were still pretty smooth. The Sayner ungroomed ones ranged from fairly smooth to bumpy. The carbides did scrape on some corners on both the groomed and ungroomed trails. Some trails are brown from snirt while others are mostly to all white. I’d rate trails from fair (although a grooming will elevate these to good) to excellent. Plowed road trails range from having a decent base with little scraping to areas that are getting thin with the carbides scraping quite a bit.

Lakes are getting smoother from the drifting snow blowing into ruts or between bumps.

Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
