We didn’t get much snow yesterday/last night – maybe half inch. I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River Lake Tomahawk and St. Germain trails. The St. Germain and Lake Tomahawk trails I rode had been groomed. Sayner had groomed most or their trails I rode and the Eagle River trail I hit hadn’t been groomed. Overall trails were fairly smooth with some bumps in areas. Conditions still vary quite a bit. you’ll find everything from some good stretches with plenty of snow to lots of fair with snirt, pushed out corners and carbides scraping in places and then there’s poor areas that have minimal snow cover so carbides scrape a lot. There’s a lot of pushed out, icy corners so slow down. The groomers are doing their best to pull snow back onto trails and work with the limited snow we have, but some areas don’t have enough to work with. For not having much snow it is still amazing how bumpy a trail can get if not groomed. Lake accesses are rough and don’t have much if any snow on them. Road trails don’t have much of a base and your carbides will scrape a lot.

Most lakes are reported to be in good condition being smooth with plenty of ice.

If you want to ride, trails are ridable. I’d rate them overall in fair condition. We sure could use some more snow…

Note: In some pictures trails will look whiter than they are due to the light snow we had.
