I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Arbor Vitae, Lake Tomahawk and St. Germain trails. The St. Germain, Arbor Vitae and Lake Tomahawk trails I rode all had been groomed. Sayner hadn’t groomed the trails I rode. Trails were packed in nice with the cold temps last night. The groomed trails were smooth with a little chop and some pushed out, icy corners. The ungroomed ones ranged from fairly smooth with some bumps to really bumpy and can’t wait to get off that trail. Two of these ungroomed trails haven’t been groomed all week and they’re all moguls. There are some beautiful trails that are all white, smooth and make you want to ride forever. Then there are some so bumpy you want to park the sled. Carbides were scraping on quite a few corners and some trails are very brown from snirt. What I rode today I’d rate as fair to good to excellent.

Plowed road trails range from having a decent base with little scraping to areas that are getting thin with the carbides scraping quite a bit. They are also getting some bare areas.

The lakes I’ve ridden lately are in nice condition. However, be on the lookout for ruts or bumpy areas.

Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
