We got about 1/4 inch of snow this morning. Temps have warmed up and are in the mid 30s now with some sun. There is definitely some melting going on. I rode all day yesterday hitting Sayner, Arbor Vitae, Lake Tomahawk, Sugar Camp and St. Germain trails. Most of the trails I rode had been groomed. As it got later in the day, trails were getting beat up and bumpy and snirty. Some were smooth, all white and the groomers pulled snow back onto corners. Then there were more corners that are thin, icy and you’ll push right through. The main corridor trails are getting brown and have some bare ground showing and puddles by highway crossings. There are several that are fair with snirt, pushed out corners and carbides scraping in places. There are still poor areas that have minimal snow cover so carbides scrape a lot. Watch out as a lot of corners are pushed out with the insides all ice or thin on snow. Road trails don’t have much of a base and your carbides will scrape a lot.

Lakes are starting to get bumpy.

I’m rating trails overall in fair condition with some good areas and some poor areas. But with the warm up this week, not sure if trails will hold up. Some wet, heavy snow and colder temps would be great…

Sorry, no pics today.
