I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River, Conover and St. Germain trails. The Sayner, Conover and Eagle River trails I rode had been groomed. The St. Germain trails I rode hadn’t been groomed. The groomed trails were smooth and packed in tight. The ungroomed ones were bumpy. I’m going with a fair to excellent rating. Some trails are sweet – all white, smooth and so much fun to ride. Then there’s areas with bumps. You’ll see more areas that are brownish from snirt. The carbides were scraping on the inside of some corners , especially the ungroomed trails, because they are thin on snow.
Plowed road trails range from having a good ice base to areas of bare pavement. Carbides will scrape in areas.
Lakes are in pretty good condition. As always, watch out for ruts and bumps.
Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
