I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner and St. Germain trails. Traffic was very heavy all weekend and we had a few days in the 40s with sun. None of the trails I rode had been groomed. Some were smooth but others were bumpy. Most were like hardened slush. Lots of corners and areas where the sun hit had bare spots. Snirty areas also had bare ground showing. Trails still have a snow base but there isn’t any lube on them. Some straight a ways were decent but corners weren’t. They are ridable if you want to ride but I turned around twice and parked my sled back in the garage. Sorry to say, but my sled is parked until the clubs groom again and we get some more snow.  I’m sure there are still lots of nice areas when you get out of towns and back in the woods but getting to them you’ll have to ride some bad areas.

Plowed road trails range from having an ice base to areas that are all bare.

The lakes I’ve ridden lately are in nice condition. However, be on the lookout for ruts or bumpy areas.

Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
