Winter is here but the trails aren’t open yet. We haven’t heard any tentative dates for when they might open.

We’ve had multiple snowfalls end of November and beginning of December. Between some melting and settling, there is around 6 inches on the ground right now. Some clubs have been out to pan the trails to try to pack them in. St. Germain was out yesterday morning. I walked on the trail through our place a few hours afterwards and there’s not much of a base – up to 3 inches of dry snow. In places could see bare ground in my foot print. So, we need more snow. There’s light snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow night and temps are predicted to stay cold.

Lakes are not safe so keep off them. We walked out on Little St. Germain lake in front of our place this morning and found 1-3 inches of ice – most places we measured had around 2 inches.

We’ll update as conditions change or if we hear of possible trail opening.

Below is a picture of the trail through our place. It looks nice but needs more snow…
