We both headed out for rides hitting some Sayner, Sugar Camp, and St. Germain trails. The St. Germain and Sugar Camp trails I rode had been groomed. Sayner had groomed most of their trails but others hadn’t been groomed. The groomed trails were smooth overall with a few bumps here and there. The ungroomed ones were ranged from pretty smooth to getting bumpy. I’m going with a fair to excellent rating. Some trails are sweet – all white, smooth and so much fun to ride. You’ll see more areas that are brownish from snirt. The carbides were scraping in spots mainly on the inside of some corners. Some areas that are exposed to sun are showing some bare ground. However, most areas have a base and this is not an issue yet. Today is predicted to be very warm with sun so expect more bare spots as the day goes on.
Plowed road trails range from having a good ice base to areas of bare pavement. Carbides will scrape in areas.
Lakes are in pretty good condition. As always, watch out for ruts and bumps.
Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
