I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner and St. Germain trails. All the trails I rode all had been groomed. Trails were packed in nice this morning. Most trails were smooth with a little chop and some pushed out, icy corners. There are some beautiful trails that are all white, smooth and make you want to ride all day. Carbides were scraping on some corners and some trails are very brown from snirt. Areas where the sun is hitting are getting very snirty and have some bare areas. What I rode today I’d rate as fair to good to excellent. With the heavy traffic coming this weekend, trails will get beat up quickly and the warm temps predicted aren’t looking very good.
Plowed road trails range from having a decent base with little scraping to areas that are getting thin with the carbides scraping quite a bit. They are also getting some bare areas.
The lakes I’ve ridden lately are in nice condition. However, be on the lookout for ruts or bumpy areas.
Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
