Trails remain closed in Vilas county due to lack of snow. We did have about 8 inches of snow on the ground but 2 warm ups has settled it down to a few inches. Some clubs were out and panned/packed down their trails. Any trail that got packed down should have the start of a good ice base and some bare areas. Ones that weren’t packed down have a little snow on them with a crusty layer on top, fluff under that and some bare areas. There is a chance of snow tomorrow but not sure if it’ll be enough to get things up riding.
Lakes have been making some ice. We measured 6-7 inches on Little St. Germain yesterday. Stay off of lakes until they are marked.
We have our fingers crossed that we’ll get the snow we need and will be riding soon. We’ll update as conditions warrant.
