I headed out for a ride hitting some Eagle River, Sayner and St. Germain trails. The St. Germain and some of the Sayner trails I rode had been groomed. The groomed trails were fairly smooth but still had some bumps and some pushed out, icy corners . I got to the Sayner town trail and it hadn’t been groomed so I turned around and went the other way as it was mostly all moguls. Trails got beat up from the weekend traffic. Carbides were scraping on quite a few corners and some trails are very brown from snirt. There are still lots of areas of good or better. Another grooming or two should help trails out. What I rode today I’d rate as fair to good.
Plowed road trails range from having a decent base with little scraping to areas that are getting thin with the carbides scraping quite a bit. They are also getting some bare areas.
The lakes I’ve ridden lately are in nice condition. However, be on the lookout for ruts or bumpy areas.
Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
