I headed out for a ride hitting some Eagle River, Sayner, Lake Tomahawk and St. Germain trails. The St. Germain, Lake Tomahawk and Eagle River trails I rode had been groomed. The groomed trails were fairly smooth but still had some bumps. The Sayner trails I rode hadn’t been groomed and ranged from a little bumpy to really bumpy and couldn’t wait to get off it. I wonder if Sayner is doing more daytime grooming which would explain their bumpy trails lately. Because if sleds go over a trail that was recently groomed and hasn’t set up, it will only take a few to make it seem like it hadn’t been groomed at all. Trails got beat up from the weekend traffic. Carbides were scraping on quite a few corners and some trails are very brown from snirt. There are still lots of areas of good or better. Another grooming or two should help trails out. What I rode today I’d rate as fair to excellent.

Plowed road trails range from having a decent base with little scraping to areas that are getting thin with the carbides scraping quite a bit.

The lakes I’ve ridden lately are in nice condition. However, be on the lookout for ruts or bumpy areas.

Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
