The snow gods blessed us with a dusting of snow last night and now this morning it’s misting with a temp of 19. I headed out for a ride hitting some Lake Tomahawk and St. Germain trails. All the trails I rode had been groomed. Everything was smooth with a few bumps here and there that the groomer wasn’t able to flatten out. What I rode today I’d rate as good to excellent. Trails had a softer feel to them and I was pushing in some corners. The carbides did scrape on some corners. Some trails are brown from snirt.
Plowed road trails range from having a decent base with little scraping to areas that are getting thin with the carbides scraping quite a bit.
The lakes I’ve ridden lately are in nice condition. However, be on the lookout for ruts or bumpy areas.
Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
If you are in St. Germain today there is a groomer show going on from 9am to 2pm. Stop by and grab something to eat as the proceeds go to the snowmobile club.
