We picked up a little more snow last night – around a third of an inch. I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River, Conover and St. Germain trails. The St. Germain, Eagle River and Conover trails I rode had been groomed. The Sayner trails I rode hadn’t been groomed. The groomed ones were smooth overall but still had some bumps the groomer didn’t flatten out completely. With cold temps, they were packed in tight and fun to ride. The ungroomed ones ranged from fairly smooth with some small bumps to getting bumpy. The carbides did scrape on some corners on both the groomed and ungroomed trails. Some trails are brown from snirt while others are mostly to all white. I’d rate the groomed trails as good to excellent and the others as fair to good. Plowed road trails range from having a decent base with little scraping to areas that are getting thin with the carbides scraping quite a bit.

With the light snowed we’ve had and all the wind, lakes are getting smoother from the snow drifting into ruts or between bumps.

Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get a trail closed.

Note: In some pics trail appear whiter than they are due to the new snow.
