I headed out for a ride hitting some Eagle River and St. Germain trails. Everything I rode had been recently groomed and were smooth. Trails were packed in tight with the cold temps. What I rode was all good to excellent. The carbides did scrape on some corners which was my only complaint. Some trails are brownish from snirt while others are mostly to all white. Most plowed road trails have a decent base but some are starting to have areas where the carbides will scrape and there are a few bare spots. These are the best trails we’ve had in years – get out and enjoy them.
Most lakes are marked. There are still some ruts from where sleds, ATVs and UTVs drove through slush and the tracks froze. We don’t advise riding a lake unless it’s marked or you know it’s safe.
Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get a trail closed.
