We both headed out for rides hitting some Sayner, Lake Tomahawk, Woodruff and St. Germain trails. Sayner had groomed some of their trails but not others. None of the St. Germain, Woodruff or Lake Tomahawk trails had been groomed. Neither of us had rode since the big warm up Friday which saw melting. After the thaw things froze up solid leaving an ice base with little loose snow on top. The groomed trails were smooth overall with a few bumps here and there. The ungroomed ones ranged from smooth to bumpy. Trails had a icy/hard feel to them. There were some bare areas and quite a few icy corners. I’m going with a poor to good rating. There are still some nice trails that are smooth, white and will put a smile on your face. You’ll also see a lot of fair to good where the straight-a-ways are decent but the insides of corners are icy or bare. More areas are brownish from snirt. The carbides were scraping in areas. Some areas exposed to the sun are getting bare. If the forecast comes true(40s for the next week), it looks like our season is ending very soon. Today will still provide some good riding and maybe tomorrow. After that, we’ll have to wait and see…

Plowed road trails range from being solid ice to areas of bare pavement. Carbides will scrape in areas.

Lakes are decent but kinda rough. As temps warm, watch out for slush.

Just a reminder… STOP signs are put up for a reason. Whether you ride fast, slow or in-between, not acknowledging them is just plain stupid and is a good way to get in an accident or get a trail closed.
