Our Story

For over 40 years, the Best family has been operating Idle Hours Resort. It has been the choice for friends and family to gather and enjoy the beautiful Northwoods of Northern Wisconsin. Every season brings a different experience of fun, recreation and relaxation. From waterskiing, fishing, swimming, boating and snowmobiling, to craft fairs, nature walks, shopping and dining, there is something for everyone in St. Germain and at Idle Hours Resort.

Sally Best

Also growing up helping out at the resort along side her brother Tom, Sally now helps runs the operations of the resort. Active not only at the resort and in the community, Sally enjoys waterskiing, snowmobiling and traveling to see other parts of the country.

Tom Best

Tom grew up learning the resort business from his parents and today help run the resort with his sister Sally and his dad Boyd. When not in the office or tending to resort needs, he is teaching waterskiing during the summer and snowmobiling the epic local trails in the winter.

Great place for kids. My wife and I had our 2 sons and families ( 2 grandkids ) with us. We went at end of season. Very affordable. Staff there is great. Fishing good.”
