The snow showers continued yesterday and again last night so our two day total snowfall was an inch and a half. I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River and Sayner trails. All the trails I rode had been groomed recently. Trails were smooth. I’m bumping more trails into the good category. While there’s still fair areas and a few poor spots, I found the majority to be good to excellent. I admit rode a couple stretches that were so nice I turned around and ran them a second time. The groomers are really doing a great job with the small snowfalls to get the trails as good as the can. One area to watch out for is icy corners. There are a lot of them out there. There are areas with snirt while other trails are mostly to all white. The carbides did scrape in spots – mainly on the insides of corners.

Some lakes are nice and smooth while others have had some drifting so are bumpy.

It’s nice to see the fresh snow – it would be nice if it kept coming. Any snow we get is great and gives the groomers more to work with.

Anyone riding the next few days might want to add an extra layer as we’re not suppose to get above zero again until Friday.
