Snowmobile trails in Vilas County opened at 8am on Monday, December 27th. Trails in Oneida County opened at 8am on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
We did get about 5 inches of snow Sunday night into Monday. The snow was light and fluffy again so isn’t packing in very good. We really don’t have a decent base from the last couple snows so as more sleds go through, trails will be down to dirt in places. We definitely need more snow to make the trails better.
We’ve heard that some lakes have up to 12 inches of ice but stay off of them until they are marked.
Let’s hope for more snow…
