I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River, Sayner and Lake Tomahawk trails. All were groomed. Most were nice and smooth, although did notice on an Eagle River stretch and a Lake Tomakawk trail that the groomer wasn’t able to knock all the moguls completely flat so those had some bumps but not too bad. Trails were packed in tight with temps around zero. The snow last week has definitely elevated conditions. I’m going with and overall good rating with plenty of very good to excellent. There are still some fair areas and a few poor spots. Most of these are icy corners or heavily traveled stretches that are brownish from snirt. I did scrape the carbides here and there – mainly on the insides of some corners. I enjoyed a lot of really nice trails that are white, smooth and a blast to ride. These are the best conditions we’ve seen so far this season.

Lakes are bumpy from drifting snow and there’s slush starting to come up if you venture off the marked trail.

I read that Sayner has two groomers down. One is expected to up and running later today and the second one should be fixed tomorrow.
