We picked up 2.5 inches of snow over the weekend – most of it Friday night. I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Sayner and Eagle River trails. The Sayner trails I rode had been groomed. The St. Germain and the Eagle River trails I rode hadn’t been groomed. You could tell it was a Monday as trails showed wear from the weekend. The groomed trails were smooth. The ungroomed trails ranged from fairly smooth to getting bumpy. Some trails are looking brownish from snirt but others are mostly white. The carbides were scraping at times – mainly on the insides of some corners. Be careful as more corners are getting pushed out making them icy and/or thin on snow. It’s hard to give an overall rating to the trails as they vary from fair up to excellent. I’m giving the groomed ones an overall good rating and the ungroomed ones a fair rating.

Plowed road trails suck. Carbides scrape constantly on them.

The snow over the weekend helped but it was a dry fluffy snow. Several inches of heavy wet snow would be wonderful…

Note: Trails in some pics look whiter than they are due to the fresh dusting of snow.
