We picked up about an inch of light, fluffy snow yesterday and last night. I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River and St. Germain trails. Sayner and Eagle River trails had been groomed and were mostly smooth but there are areas groomers weren’t able to completely flatten out the bumps. Corners are getting thin on snow and icy. Some are down to bare ground while others are holding snow. Carbides were scraping more and trails are getting brown with more snirt. There are still areas that are mostly white and great to ride.  The ungroomed ones were bumpy and most corners were pushed out and icy with little snow on them. Also was scraping more in these trails. Trails are definitely showing more wear from the heavy traffic and little snow. I’m giving the trails an overall fair rating with majority in that category. There are poor spots but also some very good to excellent.

Plowed road trails suck. Carbides scrape constantly on them.

We really could use some snow. 4-6 inches of heavy wet snow would be wonderful…

Note: Pictures will appear whiter than they are due to the new snow.
