I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River and Sayner trails. All had been groomed recently. Most were smooth but some areas did have some bumps. After a busy weekend traffic wise, Saturday getting into the low 30’s and hearing some negative comments, my expectations were pretty low. However, I was surprised to find better trails than expected. The groomers are doing a good job with the snow they have to work with and were able to pull snow back onto most corners. That being said, there are corners that are icy and/or thin on snow. Carbides were scraping on some of them. I found some very nice trails that were all white, smooth and a blast to ride. I’d say that a majority of trails are brownish to brown from snirt. It’s almost March and trails are still holding. I’d give an overall trail rating as fair/good but you’ll see anywhere from a few poor areas up to some excellent spots. Some snow would be nice…
Plowed road trails suck. Carbides scrape almost constantly on them.
