I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River, Sayner and Lake Tomahawk trails.  The St. Germain and Lake Tomahawk trails I rode had been groomed and were nice and smooth. Eagle river didn’t groom but had the night before and their trails were pretty smooth with a few bumps.  Sayner groomed some of their trails but not others. The groomed ones were mostly smooth but the other ones were pretty rough. Our warm up is here. Yesterday was 41 with sunshine. Some areas took a hit – especially plowed road trails. Some held okay while others are showing quite a bit of pavement. I’m not going to give trails an overall rating because conditions will very quite a bit, You’ll see it all – poor, fair, good and excellent. As of this morning, I’d say majority of trails were good or better. I found some stretches that were beautiful – all white, smooth with good snow cover. Saw quite a bit of fair/good where straight stretches are nice but some corners are thin – few showing some bare spots. Then there’s the poor/fair areas. These saw melting and this morning were frozen slush with a bare spot here and there. Fortunately, these were usually small areas or short sections. Trails will range from all white and beautiful to mostly white with some brownish areas down to pretty brown from snirt.

I haven’t seen any slush on the lakes yet but won’t be surprised if some starts coming up.

Today and tomorrow are suppose to be in the low 40’s and unfortunately, sunshine is in the forecast. We’ll have to see how trails hold up. Ride now if you can… like, today!
