Trail Report for Tuesday, February 7, 2017

It’s was 22 degrees this morning with a mix of sleet and freezing drizzle but has now changed over to some snow. We both rode in different directions hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River, Conover and Sayner trails. All clubs had groomed recently. Most were nice and smooth with only a couple small bumps. I’m going with most trails being fair to good. There’s a few poor spots and then some really nice areas. There are a lot of icy spots and some corners are very icy so easy to push right through them. I was scraping the carbides on the insides of some corners and on road trails. There are some bare spots on the insides of a few corners and on some plowed roads trails. The best way to describe a majority of trails is an icy base with some snow on top. There are brownish colored trails from snirt and then areas that are all white, with good snow cover. The groomers are doing a good job pulling snow back onto the icy corners but traffic will push it off as the day goes on.

Even with the heavy traffic from the weekend, trails held up pretty good. Some new snow would be really nice and would have most trails good to very good. Let’s hope this changes over to all snow and we actually get some.

Note: In the pics, some trails will look whiter than they are due to the sleet and snow.
