Snowmobile Trail Report for Wednesday, February 5, 2014

We both headed out for rides in different directions hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River, Sugar Camp, Sayner, Arbor Vitae and Lake Tomahawk trails. Most trails were recently groomed except for Sugar Camp where I found most groomed but some hadn’t been. There were some bumps and icy corners on the ungroomed ones but they were still in decent shape.  All trails recently groomed were smooth and most were packed in tight.  Trails are overall in good to very good condition. There are some corners where the inside is thin on snow and you’ll scrape the carbides You’ll also see some areas are brownish from snirt. One stretch of trail that is more in the fair category is trail 15 from intersection 926 to Dam Lake. This trail is brown and the carbides scraped quite a bit from pushed out corners to where the groomer scraped down to ground in places. Even though there was fresh groomer tracks and it was cold last night, the snow was soft and not packing in on that stretch. Other than that stretch, most trails were good or better. I found plenty of stretches that were all white and really nice.  It’s midweek which means little traffic. Combine that with cold temps and we’ll have good trails all week.
