Snowmobile Trail Report for Tuesday, February 17, 2015

I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River and St. Germain trails. Eagle River groomed and Sayner and St. Germain had been groomed recently so trails were smooth. They were packed in and fast with the cold temps last night.

You’ll find varying conditions out there. Trails range from some poor spots, lots of fair to good and some very good. There are some pushed out corners with the insides being either icy or thin on snow while others have good snow and are fine.  A fair number of the trails have at least some brownish tint from the snirt including some that were pretty brown. There are also some stretches that are all white with good snow. Plowed road trails are getting thin.

While we haven’t had much snow lately – 2 inches in the past week and a half, trails are holding up. They do get beat up – especially on weekends but the groomers are doing a good job with the snow we have and are pulling snow back onto the corners as much as possible.

There is good riding out there. Try to get off the main corridors and town trails for the best conditions. Also look for wider more open trails as the tight twisty ones get beat up faster.
