Snowmobile Trail Report for Thursday, February 2, 2017

I headed out for a ride hitting some Sayner, Eagle River, St. Germain and Lake Tomahawk trails. Sayner, St. Germain and Lake Tomahawk groomed last night. These trails were smooth and most corners had snow pulled back onto them. The ungroomed trail had icy and pushed out corners but was still smooth. We got below zero last night so trails were packed in good this morning. You’ll see varying conditions with most being fair to good. Trails are icy so as any traffic hits, watch for pushed out icy corners. Where the base  is still there after the thaw last week, expect mostly good to very good. Where the base melted expect poor to fair.  The carbides did scrape on the insides of some corners and in a few open areas that get lots of sun. There is snirt out there and some trails are pretty brown while others are still white.

Plowed road trails are probably the worst. Some sections you’ll scrape a lot.

Lakes have some rough frozen slush and ruts so be careful.

The next couple days are suppose to stay colder so should help the trails set up and be hard packed.
