Snowmobile Trail Report for Saturday, January 16, 2016

I went riding all day yesterday hitting St. Germain, Sayner/StarLake, Boulder Junction, Arbor Vitae/Minocqua and Lake Tomahawk trails. Most clubs are out grooming so trails were overall smooth and had decent snow on them. Some stretches were all white and in very good condition. Then you will find some trails that are still all bumps and ruts and you want to turn around and park your sled. Some corners had plenty of snow on them but others are pushed out and icy. Certain areas are still very thin on snow that don’t have a base and you will scrape quite a bit. Overall, I’m going to bump more trails up into the ok to good category. There are poor to fair areas you will find and also some really nice ones. It’s still a mixed bag out there. I thought trails yesterday were definitely rideable. You will find some  nice areas but will still hit some rough ones.

Many area lakes are now marked but do have some slushy areas. Stay off the lakes that are not marked.
