Snowmobile Trail Report for Monday, February 27, 2017

I headed out for a ride hitting some St. Germain, Eagle River and Sayner Trails. Of the trails I rode, St. Germain was the only club that had groomed since the snow on Friday – they groomed Saturday night. Their trails were pretty smooth while Eagle River and Sayner were getting some bumps but not too bad. The grooming did help as I didn’t scrape the carbides as much. I’d say trails are fair overall. There’s some bad and then some good. Since we didn’t get as much snow as we were hoping and it wasn’t a wet, packy snow, there isn’t quite enough snow for the trails. You will scrape the carbides on a fairly consistent basis. There are also some icy corners. I did find some nice stretches that made the ride worthwhile. I rode Little St. Germain Lake and it was in good shape – no slush to worry about. I’d say the the trails are rideable but keep your expectations low.

My report above might be completely inaccurate within a day or two. Temps are suppose to warm into the upper 30′s for today and tomorrow. Some sun is predicted for this afternoon and rain for tomorrow. If it gets as warm as predicted, i’m not sure if we’ll be out riding again.
