Snowmobile Trail report for Friday, February 14, 2014

It snowed on and off yesterday and last night so we ended up getting around 3 inches total. I headed out for a ride hitting  some Sayner/Star Lake, Conover, Eagle River and St. Germain trails.  Eagle River, Sayner and St. Germain groomed last night. The 2 Conover trails I rode hadn’t been groomed so had some small bumps and were softer with the new snow.  The groomed trails were smooth and packed in. Had fresh groomer tracks on most trails so no complaints at all this morning. As traffic picks up today, trails will show more snirt and get bumps and pushed out corners.

Overall trails are in good condition. Some corners are getting pushed out and icy or thin on snow so did hear the carbides scrape. You’ll see areas where the snow is brown from snirt but also areas that are all white. We have a good base and this new snow will help improve trails and give the groomers more snow to work with.  There’s lots of good to very good riding but some trails are showing some wear.

Note: In some pics the trails will look whiter than they are due to the fresh snow.
