Snowmobile Trail Conditions for Thursday, February 13, 2014

Light snow started falling this morning and so far we’ve picked up a half inch.  We both headed out for rides hitting  some Eagle River, Lake Tomahawk, Rhinelander, Sugar Camp, Sayner, Arbor Vitae, Boulder Junction and St. Germain trails.  Eagle River, Sayner and Arbor Vitae groomed last night. The Eagle River, Sugar Camp, Arbor Vitae, Boulder Junction and Rhinelander trails we rode were smooth and packed in. Lake Tomahawk groomed some of their trails but not others. St. Germain and some Lake Tomahawk trails we rode were getting some bumps and pushed out corners.

Overall trails are in good condition. Some corners are getting pushed out and icy or thin on snow so did hear the carbides scrape. You’ll see areas where the snow is brown from snirt but also areas that are all white. We have a good base but with almost 2 weeks of no snow and a decent amount of traffic, trails are showing wear. This new snow (half inch yesterday and half inch today so far) will help freshen things up and give the groomers more to work with. There’s lots of good to very good riding but some trails will show some wear.

Note: In some pics the trails will look whiter than they are due to the fresh snow.
